Thanks so much for this post! I knew there had to be a way to do this, but didn't think about the propset command.

…duh, hit the submit button before I was done: And if you see issues, contact the product author (which I assume is Martin).

Coding on a short deadline is never fun. :)

I'm having exactly the same problem -- got loads of Plone 2.5.3 content to migrate and then I find the migration tool has gone. I've installed contentmigration but I can't get it working yet. Intensely frustrating -- I'm up against a major deadline so this isn't helpful. No idea why it's changed. Some documentation would also be very helpful (and I don't mean just wading through Python files). Phew, I needed to rant :) Hope you got your problem sorted.

Oh, and could you either update the documentation to reflect this change — or file a ticket for the doc team to handle? Thanks! :D

Yes, absolutely understandable. Good thing all the core people read RSS and monitor blogs for Plone. ;)

Products.contentmigration is your uncle!

OOPS, sorry, I pointed you to the wrong thing. Though perhaps you could write genericsetup:upgradeSteps to kick off contentmigrations. I'm a little fuzzy on where/how contentmigrations are run, unless maybe from the "old style" Quick Installer… (?) yeah, this is a discussion much better suited for one of the mailing lists ;-)

Apologies for not using a forum. I was extremely frustrated when I wrote this, and it simply didn't occur to me.
