Viewlet Management in Plone via GenericSetup

Changing the ordering and viewing status of viewlets in Plone 3 is pretty easy. The thing that always trips me up is that when I’m adjusting this information – say to hide a viewlet – the changes don’t show up after re-running the quickinstaller. I always forget that you have to purge the old settings to make the new ones show up.

So, in the order or the hidden tags, simply add a purge=”True” attribute. Reinstall your product, and your changes will now show up.
